It looks like Koji Uehara has been traded to the Texas Rangers.

In return, the Orioles have gotten some nice pieces for the future, and have some major league experience -- of course, assuming everything works out.

From the Baltimore Sun: The Orioles have dealt right-handed reliever Koji Uehara to the Texas Rangers for first baseman Chris Davis and right-handed pitcher Tommy Hunter, according to several sources.

Uehara, 36, was 1-1 with a 1.72 ERA in 43 games for the Orioles.

Chris Davis, 25, has three homers in 72 at-bats for the Rangers.

Tommy Hunter, 25, is 1-1 with a 2.93 ERA in eight games this year. He won 13 games for them in 2010.

Well, it's good to see Koji Uehara to go a contender and get a chance to be part of a winner. Perhaps the Orioles could re-sign back him in the off-season.

After a few years of struggles in Baltimore, Uehara finally got healthy and became an integral part of the Baltimore bullpen.

Who knows if he could have been durable throughout the season; however, the Orioles now have a pitcher who had a solid 2010 season and a hitter who has shown some promise in the minors from the Texas organization.

A good move by the Birds. Let's hope it goes well.
