At the top of the hour, the Oriole and Rays will play one another in the second contest of their three-game series.

Tonight, Baltimore sends Jeremy Guthrie to the mound against Tampa’s tough lefty, David Price. We’re here again in the press box, so far it does not look as if it is going to rain based on what I saw on the Weather Channel’s website.

I’m sure all eyes will be on Nick Markakis again to see if he can follow up on his 6-RBI game on Friday.

We will see if the Orioles can continue their hot streak and extend their win streak to five games. Hopefully, Baltimore will give Guthrie some well-need run support and they will finally inch that much closer to the .500 mark.

It is unbelievable that we as fans are hoping for the Orioles to reach .500.

Personally, although the .500 mark is a tangible sign of progress, maybe there will be a day soon that the Orioles are expected to win.

Right now, as long as the Orioles play with some consistency, they should be all right. Certainly, I do not see them as contenders; however, if the starting pitching continues to improve, and the offense picks up, there’s no reason why they can not be in the thick of things this summer.
